Welcome to Pelvic Floor Toner and Exerciser Reviews. Your guide to the best equipment to tone your pelvic floor muscles. We want you to find products that work and that is why we decided to create this site of the Top Consumer Reviews. Effective pelvic toners and exercisers to help you cure incontinence, heighten sexual pleasure and aid other problems. These products are reviewed by real people and actually work.
To be honest I never thought I would be in the market for a pelvic floor toner, but I guess these things come with age. After three kids it wasn’t much of a surprise to my Doctor when I came in for an appointment, complaining of mild incontinence. It was a surprise to me though. I sometimes do aerobics classes and I had started to notice in some of the routines I would leak a little bit and the same when I was laughing my head off at some joke. It made me feel really old and kind of gross. At first I just wore sanitary towels, but they are not exactly comfortable and after a while I noticed I had to buy thicker ones. I guess I was afraid I would end up wearing pads. That is why I went to the Doctors.
Luckily my Doctor was a lovely lady and didn’t make me feel like a complete freak (how I expected to feel!) She told me loads of women around my age (55) experience these problems and she recommended investing in a pelvic exerciser.
Well, I have to admit I had no idea where to start with my search for a good pelvic toner. I had seen a Channel 4 program called Embarrassing bodies on the subject, but I couldn’t remember the best ones. So I bought a selection and that is why I decided to post my reviews, so hopefully you will find your search a bit easier than I did. The good news is I cured my incontinence after 3 months, which as you can imagine I am over the moon about. I got my friends to buy these products too as they are all around the same age as me. That way we can give you an unbiased review. The other option my Doctor gave me was a painful operation, which was something I didn’t even want to consider, so I am so glad I avoided that. Here are our 3 top pelvic floor toner choices:
Our Number 1 Recommendation is The Kegel 8 Ultra Pelvic Muscle Trainer and with good reason. The Kegel 8 Ultra is the easiest to use out of all the pelvic muscle toners we tried. All you need to do is turn it on and it gets to work. I liked the fact I didn’t need to worry about whether I was doing the exercises correctly. It does them for you. This toner is small, lightweight and very comfortable to use, all important factors to take into consideration. Remember you will be using this product on a regular basis. The variable control means you can easily target different problems. For me it was incontinence, but for one of my friends it was prolapse. I only had to use it twice a day for 15 minutes to strengthen the pelvic muscles, inhibiting the detrusor muscle through reflexive mechanisms and stimulate nerves, improving the quality of the blood flow and enhancing vaginal sensations.
I know that bit sounded a bit scientific, but the main thing was that this worked. I guess I felt confident after it was recommended on GMTV. This was the one product I would recommend to anyone. It is the more expensive option, but by far the easiest to use and the best.
This pelvic floor toner came in a very close second to the Kegel8 Ultra amongst my group of friends and testers. It works in much the same way as the above, locating the pelvic muscles for you and exercising them, so that you do not have to worry whether you are exercising the right muscles. It is comfortable, very easy to use and discreet.
It actually tells you on the screen how well your pelvic floor muscles are working. It is cheaper than the Kegel8 Ultra, but it comes in slightly behind as it a tiny bit more cumbersome to use. None of the ladies had a problem with this however, I just preferred the Kegel8 Ultra.
Kegel tight and tone plus is slightly larger than the usual kegel tight and tone. This makes it better for women who have had children (like me!) I guess that is most people who look into buying these kind of products.
The ladies who tried out this product found that the improvements in their pelvic floor were noticeable within two weeks and only improved from there. Some felt a difference after they had used the product only once.
This is a great option if you cannot quite afford the Kegel8 Ultra, but want a similarly effective product.
Aquaflex was very popular amongst my younger friends and those who had not yet had children. This kegel exerciser was top rated on Channel 4s Embarrassing bodies, but it wasn’t quite right for me. I guess I am a bit lazy and prefer the convenience of the other two exercisers. They basically do the work for you, but with the Aquaflex you have to be a bit more disciplined.
This option is a lot cheaper than the other two and does still work. It consists of weighted cones that you insert. As your pelvic muscles become stronger you increase the weights. You will probably see an improvement very quickly.
If you have very weak pelvic floor muscles (like I did) then these may not be suitable as it takes a lot of effort to wrap your muscles around the cone. However, if you are younger and looking for a way to tone up then these are great. Some of my friends found this a bit of an effort compared with the turn it on and forget it method of the kegel 8 machines.
Depending on the reason why you are looking for a pelvic floor exercise and your age and whether you have had children you should be able to find a pelvic floor exerciser/toner for you. I will be sticking to the Kegel8 Ultra, as although it was more expensive than the other tools, it is so effective and I just sit and watch TV as I use it. I know I am a bit lazy! I have been using it for some time now and have told my Doctor I can’t believe the difference. Not only has my incontinence disappeared, but my sex life has improved ten fold. That is not something I thought I would be sharing with the world 6 months ago!
Where to go from here?
We recommended the Kegel8 Ultra because it WORKS. So if you really want to get your pelvic problems sorted that is the way I would go:
